Rebecca A. Schumacher, Ed.D.The FSCA Board of Directors approved the position of Executive Director in 2016. Dr. Rebecca A. Schumacher was appointed FSCA’s first Executive Director on September 15, 2016. She brought to this position four decades of leadership experiences in counseling associations. Over her years of service, she has held the office of president for national, regional, state and local counseling associations, oversaw fiscal development and growth for a national and regional associations, and held chair seats of multiple committees. Additionally, she has been a school counselor at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, a district administrator, and most recently a school counselor educator. Throughout her career as a school counselor, her motto has been “do right by kids”. I consider serving as the FSCA Excutive Director a privilege. Far too often, lost in the hectiness of daily work, is the point that our school counseling profession is a noble and worthy one. We each are entrusted to support, to contribute to the development of, and pave the pathways for success for our most precious - every child. My work, as your Executive Director, is committed to how FSCA may enable school counselors to deliver high quality programs to support and educate, ultimately impacting every child in our state. Doing what is right and best for children is our mission as professionals. As you proide for your students, please reach out to FSCA for ways we may better serve you.
